False memory

There is something called a false memory effect that we all can experience in lives. I want to make people aware that these things happen and we can't be sure in our memories when sources are not 100% valid. It happens when a lot of information that appears to us is meaningfully (semantically) related. We draw associations and think of similar things that might not necessarily were presented to us.  Sometimes we even create memories with the events that never happened. It is possible to have this effect after therapy or hypnosis. People think they recover suppressed memories but in reality their mind is playing with them by making up something that never existed. Here is a story of a man who were sentenced to life in prison because his daughter testified against him. She said she recovered memories from 20 years ago of him killing a child. The evidence is now considered invalid because she was under hypnosis when these memories appeared. It is possible that therapist led her to it.
